[the stars are blazing like rebel diamonds cut out from the sun] I couldn't for the life of me choose a song... so when in doubt.. go with The Killers! I loved the lyrics and meaning to it as well. This took me a ridiculous amount of time since I haven't edited in forever! My camera is back in action and I'm getting clips so I can cram in videos before the end of summer which is in just 2 weeks time :/ Half assed video, I know, I know. just for reference; BLACK PONY - MAGIC BAY HORSE - INDY SO... you're probably all wondering "uhoh here comes a ridiculously long description" well yeah, you're right... but also, a show?! The barn I now board at has these tiny little schooling shows and I just decided it would be a fun thing to do... so I entered both of my guys in this... it was yesterday! lowdown; As I've always known, my horses NEVER fail to surprise me and leave me with the biggest smile on my face. I don't mind a bit if we don't come out with a coloured piece of fabric, I just care that we are working together, proving ourselves... to ourselves. I'm not there to show off. I'm not there to win. I'm not there to move up. I'm there to make the best of this time. The time where I have my amazing horses, where I am able to forget about all those people doubting me and my horses, almost just to reassure myself that even the smallest things in life are rewarding. That I should never take a single moment for-granted. Ever. "Champions do not become champions when they win the event, but in the hours, weeks, months and years they spend preparing for it. The victorious performance itself is merely the demonstration of their championship character." Enough of that... how about actual facts about the show now? Thank goodness for my best friend (libbyhorseislove's) help at this show! Made it 20x more fun :) Our first class was an eq round... or supposed to be. Indy didn't like that too much... but he still had his poker face on haha. I was psyched for our first jumper round... which we were winning until I forgot the second to last jump... *hits head* It was power and speed (crazy for a schooling show... right? yeah.) anyway... I was SO pleased with Indy after that last jumper round. He seriously was a ROCKSTAR. I tried to remember everything I've ever done with him and just let him go a little bit. He is the most adjustable horse on the planet... but it's a little odd when he makes 9 strides in a 7 stride line look entirely normal. Haha Mr. Choppy! The jumps are tiny (as you can see), but considering he came back from being in pasture for FOUR MONTHS just 3 weeks ago... We haven't had a refusal in a long long time, so he's definitely feeling better. I'm so proud of him. We've come a long way to say the least. I won't be pushing him over anything higher than 2'6" ever, but I'm just trying it out for fun again, he's still enjoying the semi-mellow life though. Not being worked that hard, etc. Haha and I wasn't expecting it in the least, but we won that last jumper class. I couldn't have been happier with him. It looked like... well it looked atrocious to say the LEAST! Ew. Magic was SO PERFECT in his little walk trot class. AW. I got out and just gave him a huge hug. He really tried so hard, it's the most adorable thing. He even looks at me out of the corner of his eye as to see if I think he's doing well. I'm the luckiest person in the world to know a pony as great as him. (brag fest!) OH and you'll notice Im wearing gloves in some clips and not others... thats because smart old natalie LOST one of them.. haha. I'll stop since this is WAY long, but all - in - all it was a great experience, they were just spectacular.
